Extension to final dates !
HOT news from House of travel !
Background
Current figures show we have not taken up the 350 seats we hunted down with the airlines, in actuality dropping down to more the 290s and represents a significant loss in revenue to the supplier of service. In the unlikely event this drops further we are at risk of a review in the package pricing.
The good news
- package cost remain unchanged
- cancellation fees are reduced from $500 to $300 per person
- Wave 1 is the cheaper of the two and there are now seats currently available on these flights and are now being offered back to contingents who requested them originally
- wait there’s more…
More good news - revised travel activity timelines
This extension is granted on the basis and understanding that first and second deposits have been made.
- Friday 12 March 2010: an instalment of $1750 per person is required (this is in addition to the first two deposits to hand) and amendments made post this date will incur $100 in addition to any other fees charged by hotel/airline
- Friday 16 April 2010: FINAL PAYMENT which may vary across the two waves
Cancellation and refunds policy will be outlined with all managers via the Team Summary sheets due to be issued week commencing 01 March.
Breakdown in overall costs
This breakdown replaces the earlier anticipated budget of July 2009 and is broken down to show you the associated costs of both the travel package and the event registration.
House of Travel are happy to provide a funding letter that provides a breakdown of these costs or simply the combined airfare (that includes the fuel levies/taxes) if you prefer. Equally happy to the highest fare even if you are on a different package.
Airfare (excl. domestic connections)
- Wave One: $1045 (this includes taxes and fuel levies)
- Wave Two: $1134 (as per above)
Accommodation (a breakfast per day has been negotiated in here)
- $143 pp/pn triple = $1430
- $164 pp/pn twin = $1640
Insurance
- $45 pp and especially covers training and competition
Transfers
- First wave $55
- Second wave $65 (may reduce to $55 and is based on seating occupancies in the coaches, not all seats were full – we believe we may now be able to reduce amount of coaches)
Overall travel package costs
- First wave total triple package $2575 excludes race entry
- Second wave total triple package $2674 excludes race entry
PLUS Race Entry – $100 per paddler
FREE Competition uniform
- one cap (also for coach and manager)
